Helping children in foster care succeed –
2011-12 Annual Investment of $1.7 million in 9 programs

Quality services for children in foster care have a multi-layered effect for both the child and society: increased school success and graduation rates, decreased juvenile crime and substance abuse rates and lower ratres of child maltreatment.

FOSTER CARE OUTCOMES (from 2010-11)

Achieve
More than three fourths of children in one Levy program were either meeting key milestones in growth and development or on track in developing health emotional and social skills.  

Acquire
More than 70 percent of children in three Levy programs improved their school achievement or success or attended school at least 90 percent of the time.

Accomplish
93 percent of parents in three Levy programs improved their parenting skills and 100 percent of foster parents in one Levy program received health care services for their foster children.

Attain
There were no substantiated reports of child abuse for 100 percent of families in one Levy program within six months of reuniting with their biological children.
